a family of 4 kids/pets needs help staying heathy an together

Hi I'm jolene an I'm a single mom with four kids and right now four pomeranians, my 5 yr old male ( I got him at six wks) needs his rabies updated an liscenced immediatly or I go to jail. We are struggling badly about to be homeless an there is just no money, I thought I wld be moving across the river from iowa to omaha nebraska next week but I can't get the $900 deposit for new house by feb 1st, so I'm going to lose my hold on the perfect home, with huge fenced yard for the 4 kids n dogs it was pets allowed an my landlord is not renewing my lease so I'm in a panic....I figured I wld renew my dogs rabies an then get him tags in omaha but now I have to find a new home quickly an if I don't have it done in time I will get a warrant for failure to liscence, we are going thru a lot right now(see other post) an our pets are family, my daughter got a three year old pom that we soon found out was prego, she delivered on new years eve, first the little reddish boy an then the little blonde one was breech/stuck n stillborn but with my daughters love for animals an desire to be a veternarian she helped me with cpr an saved the little girl so the pups won't be ready to go for another month, we need help with heathy food for the mom n babies she is not keeping her milk up an I'm afraid the babies aren't getting enough to eat an wld like to get them formula/bottle to supplement, an their first shots an then momma fixed /shot/tags, I want my pets healthy an safe, anything will help I gotta raise these kids/dogs/ n now too surprise pups by myself since I just got divorced an have spinal disability I'm just trying to get back on my feet an I just need a little help to keep us all together! God bless an prayers welcome!

I ask that everyone visit my shelter website and it is free, and please vote for a pet or pets of the month as I am trying to help place 26 animals that need homes so they do not get put down. I will be doing a weekly news column in our local news papers if they let me, know one for sure is going to ... the animals chosen will be advertised there with a link to my shelter website. I am trying to get an animal shelter started in my area one that will be non kill and will work with other shelters as well... here is the link to the adoption page where you can vote.... adoption page-vote now feel free to explore and comment on my website.

Soon to be homeless!!

In about 2 weeks I am going to be homeless. I have no family to stay with any longer. I've applied for public housing, but don't know how long that is going to take. I've applied for and been denied disability (numerous emotional/mental health issues, as well as peripheral neuropathy). I'm currently appealing my denial (with the help of a lawyer). I have two male cats, who are fixed, whom I have had since they were kittens. They are part of my family. I don't want to lose them. Does anyone have any ideas, suggestions, anything????

about to be homeless - so scared

Looking for some help, please! My husband just lost his job and we have been living in a hotel. We owe some back money and can't afford to pay anymore. Monday and all subsequent days we are spending looking for work but we are going to be homeless by that time. We have pets that we just can't give up. I am employable and so is my husband but we are desperate. We will pay back when we have work and a roof over our heads. We are praying for an angel to be able to help us out in this time of need. Our ultimate goal is to be able to help other people in our circumstances in the future.

Pet Friendly Apartments and Living Spaces for You and your Pets Locator

You're moving and can't find a place that accepts pets.

Moving is the most common reason why people give up their pets. It doesn't have to be this way. Unfortunately, we live in a throw-away society where we feel it's alright to get rid of something once it becomes an inconvenience. Before you considering giving up your pet because you're moving, please read the following:

1. Most people give up too quickly in their search for rental property that accepts pets. Don't be quick to jump on the first apartment you see. There'll probably be a better one available soon. You can also visit People With Pets or Moving With Pets if you live in the Southern California area and need to find a pet-friendly place to live.

**See People With Pets to search for a place in the United States.

Financial Help for Sick and Injured Pets- Contacts for

Rescuing Animals In Need DOES NOT PROVIDE ANY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE.

If you can't afford vet care these other groups my help. We obtained this list from another source and have no experience or contact with any of the groups. As such we can't endorse any of the groups listed or know how they operate.

Here is a list of organizations that help owners that cannot afford vet care. Most of them handle serious medical conditions and injury. Some focus on low income, elderly and handicapped owners. A couple of them are for rescue organizations and homeless pets.

American Animal Hospital Association
www.aahahelpingpets.org/home
The heartbreak happens all too often. A pet owner is unable to afford treatment and their sick or injured companion animal pays the price. If the owner is elderly, disabled or on a fixed income, the cost of care may be too much of a stretch for their pocketbook. Perhaps they have been victimized by crime, property loss or a job layoff and are experiencing a temporary financial hardship making it too difficult to afford pet care. And some animals, brought to clinics by Good Samaritans, don't have an owner to pay for treatment. Whatever the situation, the fact remains the same: When sick or injured animals are unable to receive veterinary care, they suffer. Through the AAHA Helping Pets Fund, veterinary care is possible for sick or injured pets even if they have been abandoned or if their owner is experiencing financial hardship."

New Food Bank In Albuquerque To Help Low Income Owners of Dogs And Cats

Owners No Longer Have To Give Up Their Pets Because They Can't Afford To Feed Them.
Mayor Martin J. Chávez announced a food bank for pets that will help low-income owners of dogs and cats in Albuquerque; a partnership between the Mayor, PETCO Foundation, The Storehouse food pantry in downtown Albuquerque and Albuquerque Animal Welfare.  Pet food will be offered at The Storehouse, 106 Broadway SE, a food pantry that has provided free food supplies to low-income households for nearly 40 years.  “Lately, media accounts have demonstrated that many families have been faced with either paying for such things as prescription medicines or food for their pets,” says Mayor Chavez. “Now, thanks to the generosity and efforts of the community, people have another way of finding help during hard times. This couldn’t have come at a more opportune time, given the national economic downturn.”

PETCO Foundation has agreed to contribute about two tons of pet food per month for distribution to qualified clients of The Storehouse.

Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department will be seeking additional supplies through a community food drive to benefit the Storehouse program and other potential charitable uses. Pet food can be donated at city animal shelters. Jeanine L. Patterson, R.N., director of Albuquerque Animal Welfare says “This program just underscores our mission to find permanent, loving homes for pets. It also reinforces that our pets are lifelong members of the family, even if it requires a little help during hard times.”

The City of Albuquerque already provides pet food for the dogs and cats of homebound seniors, as part of a nutrition program that offers home-delivered meals to senior citizens. The program uses donated food and operates in partnership with Animal Humane New Mexico.

Who We Are

Founded in 1998, Help for Homeless Pets is an all volunteer, no-kill, 501(c)(3) non-profit Organization with two main goals:
To find permanent homes for homeless animals in the Billings area.
To promote spaying and neutering, thereby reducing the tragic consequences of pet overpopulation
HHP does not euthanize animals. Instead, we provide shelter in our kennel, or in a foster home, until a permanent home for them can be found.

We can house 100 cats and 40 dogs and puppies and we are open every day.
